When sport isn't going as well as it should it is frustrating, annoying, disappointing, confusing and more. It doesn't have to be this way. This doesn't have to continue.

I can help you to:

  • Conquer nerves, reduce stress and quell anxiety in your sport

  • Develop robust confidence in your ability

  • Become better prepared for important events and performances

  • Manage anger and frustrations

  • Bounce-back from setbacks, such as injuries

  • Perform better

  • Feel better, more positive, happier

  • Be more satisfied with your performances - because you are performing better!

Read more about the understandable problems that athletes face and how sports psychology can help on my problems helped page. You are likely to see your performance problem there.

As a Clinical Sports Psychologist, I have the additional specialist skills and training to help sportspeople address deeper and more complex areas, including:

  • Trauma, PTSD or phobias following a traumatic incident (e.g. a crash, an accident, abuse)

  • Lmiting or problematic eating (eating disorders, including binge eating disorder and bulimia)

  • Over-exercise and exercise addiction

  • Limiting perceptions of body image

  • Low self-esteem and depression

  • Problems with team relationships and dynamics

This is why I am often the Sports Psychologist recommended to help athletes.

Underperformance in sport hurts

When we don't perform as we could have it is tough to absorb.

Often it is those of us who want it the most who end-up suffering the greatest drop in performance.

It's not as simple as: if you want it enough, then you'll make it happen.

Often, the more we want it, the more stress and tension we end-up feeling in the lead-up to our big day. This contributes to us becoming more frustrated, angry and annoyed when things don't go our way.

This blocks our ability to think in a performance-enhancing way and being able to execute our skilled physical movements.

You train your body for sport, but how much do you train your mind?

You spend a lot of time, energy and (probably) money, training your body for events.

That's great, because without the right kind of physical training, your performance can't improve and get closer to your best.

But, how much time and attention do you invest in training your mind to be ready for competition?

Most sportspeople say that when it really counts (competition), the biggest factor that determines performance, is how you manage the occasion psychologically (or don't).

Perform better

What next?

I look forward to helping you to get more from sport and life.
